Head of Marketing

Location: Abingdon / United Kingdom   |   Contract type: Full time

As Head of Marketing, you will build and execute PMC’s Marketing Strategy, shaping the future of our brand and driving growth. To support you to do this you’ll lead a talented group of Marketing professionals to deliver strategic initiatives that drive lead generation, brand awareness, and support strong customer retention.

Highly creative and with great energy, you will be an evangelist for PMC’s broad range of propositions, collaborating with our sales, account management and proposition owners to position in the market the unique capabilities that PMC has.

You will also be PMC’s marketing thought leader, helping us understand how technology and the latest market thinking can shape and drive our marketing approach.

You will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, with excellent leadership skills, aligned to PMC’s culture and values.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop and execute PMC’s Marketing Strategy, aligned to PMC’s strategic and operational plan, ensuring that all key stakeholders are aligned and clear on our Marketing direction.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, account management, proposition leaders and the operating board of PMC, to ensure a clear understanding of business focus and context that marketing activity will be delivered within.
  • Lead, mentor and manage a co-located Marketing team, ensuring they are set up for success and provided with the guidance and support they need to deliver the Marketing strategy and operating plan, and to grow professionally.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns for PMC, driving qualified leads
  • Take an active role in PMC’s markets, offering valuable market and competitor insights to shape our propositions, strategy, and market positioning.
  • Take ownership for all marketing channels, ensuring there is a proactive content plan aligned to campaigns, proposition and broader PMC updates.
  • Utilise marketing data to drive insights into the value of marketing activity, recommending changes to be made based on insight provided. Provide regular reporting on the impact of marketing activity.
  • Plan, execute and manage key events including trade show presence, customer events and networking sessions.
  • Lead the Operating Board on PMC’s brand identity and positioning, ensuring there is strong alignment across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Develop and manage a content strategy that oversees the creation of high-quality content including whitepapers, case studies, proposition collateral and video content. Ensure that all content assets and collateral are maintained, updated and ready for use and in line with PMC’s brand identity.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners and vendors who are key to the execution of our marketing strategy.
  • Evaluate new & emerging marketing tools, frameworks and channels advising how the team and PMC could potentially benefit from their adoption.
  • Work closely with and propose to the CCO the marketing tools, platforms, partners and budget needed to deliver the marketing strategy. Ensure that all are proactively managed and that we drive strong value from all of our Marketing investments.
  • Ensure that all communications shared internally and externally are of a high calibre and in line with PMC’s brand messages

Skills and Experience | Essential

  • Extensive experience across all areas of Marketing delivery, ideally in B2B organisations, and comfortable to be the marketing thought leader for PMC.
  • Strong experience of developing and implementing a clear marketing strategy and operating plan, aligned to a Company’s overall strategy.
  • Experience of B2B technology marketing
  • Excellent people leader, with a strong track record of developing and enabling high performing teams.
  • Ability to create impactful marketing material with a clear vision and purpose.
  • Product marketing experience would be beneficial
  • Collaborative style, with the ability to develop strong working relationships internally and externally.
  • A keen interest in technology and the domains within which PMC operates would be beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with strong creative writing and content creation skills.
  • Good experience of supplier management.
  • Effective budget management skills
